The deal with drawing is that...
- it is the first thing I ever remember being good at.
- it makes me feel lucky to have the skill.
- it all started with a fairy. I used to only draw fairies in kindergarten and I still remember her wings resembling the shape of mangoes.
- though I found it so tiring and exhausting, I found immense joy in it.
- once I started drawing something, I would leave the side of my sketchbook only for bathroom breaks; I have sat 3 to 5 hours continuously to finish a drawing piece.
- it was all I remember doing in two years at boarding school (I even failed in two subjects :p)
- I never got formal training except for a junior diploma in Indian art (which I was quite bad at)
- it reminds of all the fun and gentle talented art teachers I have met in school.
- I never really bothered painting. Most of my sketches were never filled with color. Most of them came from an existing piece of work and seldom from imagination.
- it involves creating something from nothing, leaving me with immense joy.
- I loved the attention and compliments it attracted me.
- I thought I'd always be at it, I never bothered to retain my creations since I was a kid. Now when I look back, I'm sorry that I did not build a collection of my drawings.
- I seldom do it. Work. Time. Life. The usual suspects.
- I still can't wait to get my hands on my pencils and crayons!
